How to Balance Your Masculine & Feminine Energies & Avoid Disaster

July 28th, 2015 | 44 comments

Whoa! Last week’s special episode of Wake Up Wednesday kicked off so much real, raw, insightful conversation in the blog comments. I’ve loved hearing from you and talking with you more deeply and intimately.

Today, I’m sharing the second video in a very special four-part series that takes away all the fluff and breaks everything down to what’s real.

These videos are definitely different. There’s no camera crew—it’s just you and me. I get intimate and vulnerable like never before.

Remember our intention from last week? We committed to living out loud. So don’t hide—let me know you’re here! We’re on this journey together.

Today, I’m jumping right in—this is 100% something we need get more serious and open about. I want to warn you about a possibly devastating disaster you could be creating. (But also equip you with the insight needed to avoid it.)

It’s the idea that we have to do more!

Have you ever thought to yourself:

Time is running out.
I’m not doing enough.
I’m not smart enough.

These feelings are symptoms of a much deeper issue inside all of us that needs to be addressed: the balancing of the masculine and feminine.

The masculine side of ourselves tells us to hustle. Work hard. Push through at all costs. And honor our word, or else we’ll never be successful.

But you and me? As women, we desire something completely different. The way we want it to be is powerfully feminine. It’s feeling free, spacious, connected to our desires.

As I explore the divine feminine in my own life, I’m feeling into all those feminine structures I’m creating, and I wonder: are they bringing me success?

The answer is: yes, they are! But not without the balance of the masculine as well.

You’ll see exactly what I mean in the video.

There’s a metaphor I love that really drives this masculine/feminine concept home. Basically, we all have planes in flight right now in our lives. These planes are flying toward the airport that we want to be our destination.

The airports? They’re our value systems. They’re the things and feelings we want in our lives—our priorities. Self-care, relationships, families, careers, and really detailed additional dream spots we have plans to visit.

When we say, “Let’s do more!” we’re adding planes. They’re all going in different directions, and they’re not all going to land. It’s a disaster: at any moment, the planes might all collide. This makes us anxious! Which one is going to crash?

I sometimes feel anxious, too. How could we not, when we look out our window and see big objects flying at as full force from all angles?

The honoring of masculine and feminine is the balance of being fully in the pilot’s seat of our plane and feeling spacious and connected to what’s going on in our lives.

Take the time to decide which plane is the most important to you right now. Which one do you want to land?  How can you create a clean flight plan and clear skies?

Here’s an example that’s coming up for me in my life right now. This week, I decided that a plane that’s very important to me is making space for creativity in my life. I gave up Broadway for a different plane: serving and coaching incredible women like you. But I still need time to fly the plane of creativity and artistic expression.

And the competing plane? I also like want to be the pilot of comfort and peace.

So which plane do I really want to land at a destination in one whole piece?  I can NOT fly both of these desires at the same time.  One has got to be put on autopilot right now so I can be fully engaged in the flight plan of the other.

Well, my show, The Captivate Blessingway Live Performance, is coming up in 28 days and I haven’t even picked the songs I’m going to sing!

I’m realizing, the plane of creativity is the one I couldn’t survive crashing!  It would just be too devastating, and it’s way more important to me than hanging out in my comfort zone (as cozy as this plane is). The date and time is set and the theater is rented. My voice lessons are booked. Tickets are selling quickly. But I’m not prepared!

It’s going to take a balance of my masculine and feminine energies to pull off my opposing feelings about doing what it takes to put on a great show. I’m going to have to jump into the pilot’s seat of the plane of my creativity so I can bring to life this huge vision and take the stage confidently. It’s the only way to direct my focus and to concentrate my power.

I’m guessing you can relate and it’s time for you to make a decision about the airport you want to visit with your body and plane in one complete piece. That means it’s time to jump in the pilot seat and take charge.

And you can do it with your hair down, your favorite tune on the radio, painted nails and your best girlfriend by your side.

That’s the true balance of masculine and feminine. Being present in the moment, feeling supported and knowing what you want. Whatever your feelings are bringing up for you—honor them. Honor your word and land that plane.

If you’re curious about how I’m going to land my own plane of creativity, I’d love for you to join us for the Captivate Blessingway Live Performance.
You're Invited 1

    • Good morning Lina,

Metaphors are always such powerful activators for me. When we create a metaphor for something we process it in a new way that sometimes created that missing link we needed to find our motivation. I hope you will take some time for your priorities love. I also find “What gets measured gets managed”. If you see this comment I lovingly invite you to set a date and time for yourself now to sit down and feel in. I’d love to hold you accountable as I’m sure many of the sisters reading this will as well. Now that’s how we gain momentum! Sisterhood support and we’ve got you. So happy to see you here this week and looking forward to hearing how directing your planes works out!

  1. I just wanted to give a shout out to my fellow sisters who have hundreds of planes in the air right now. We are mothers, lovers, sisters, daughters, employees, cooks, drivers, homeowners, entrepreneurs, neighbors, community members, mentors, souls, etc, and each role has many planes a-flying. What I don’t want us to believe any more is that the planes that are in the air carrying our own personal priorities are any less important than any other plane up there. So many times, we step out of the cockpits of the personal care plane — whether its health, fitness, sleep, creativity, girl-time, alone-time, whatever need it may be — to fly another plane that will land in someone else’s airport for someone else’s immediate benefit. We figure, if my self-care plane doesn’t lane at my airport, only one person will be disappointed — ME — and that’s okay, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make. But after time, loves, it also becomes a habit, a comfort zone, a martyr badge, and there are negative feelings associated with this choice you’ve made: resentment, bitterness, dissatisfaction, dis-ease, and depression. I submit that your beautiful luxury jet airliner — the one that carries your self-care, your dreams, your values — is the most important plane in your sky. Every day it should land at your airport…before you jump in the cockpit of another one and take off.

    • Totally, Julie! Yes x 1000! What always rings true for me, especially as a mom, and what I work with my clients on is the face/air mask on the plane analogy…there is a reason they tell you to put the mask on yourself first before putting it on your child. If you don’t take care of yourself first, then everything else will suffer the consequences. Self care is HUGE!!!

      • Love this Mel and setting very clear and strong intentions around this as I step into motherhood. I see too many moms where this as a badge of honor like Julie mentioned “Huh, self care, must be nice, I don’t have time for me I have 3 kids.” It’s a choice and too often we let guilt or excuses be our compass versus conscious participation in our life experience. And I really believe you’re right, making the choice to give up our air supply does harm to everyone.

    • Wonderful reflection, Julie! It is so important that as as wives, mothers, sisters we learn to take care of ourselves first. We can’t support others if we are letting ourselves fall apart. Thank you for that reminder! <3

    • Beautiful Julie!

As you know this is a non negotiable on my flight plan. In fact as I was feeling into your words I realized it’s not even a plane for me anymore it’s the control tower at every single airport. Without self love and self care as a top priority as the energetic radar running the show all of my planes are running the risk of destruction. Whether I’m the pilot or not if no one is in the control tower watching out for me and the overall sky to be sure we are running at maximum potential everything could crash at any moment, and often does. So the control tower has to be operated by the most attentive, devoted, loving and powerful part of ourselves. The control tower IS our self care. Thank you for declaring this for all of us and reminding us of the core truth.

  2. I loved the plane metaphor! This hits close to my heart, because I have a few planes I want to land. I have not been working on them and procrastinating, because I feel unsure and uncertain. Your video and honest share has inspired me to get out there again. Your plan will definitely not crash and your performance is going to be magical and beautiful! Holding space for you in my heart<3

  3. First of all, so fun that you mentioned my fun story of finding you in the comments section on one of Marie Forleo’s videos! I got all excited to hear you referring to little ol’ me! Looking forward to starting the Mentor Masterclass this September 🙂

Second, it’s interesting because I feel that my partner was saying much of the same to me the other day. He didn’t have the metaphor though so now it’s really driven home. My business is all about coaching people through making sustainable lifestyle changes. But I’ve been all caught up in the “How” (also a topic covered on MarieTV this week – is everyone talking to ME?! LOL) and less focused on my own lifestyle planes. Yet keeping those planes in the air and being sure they all land safely is exactly what I need to LIVE in order to make my business a success.

I’m going to set aside some time tomorrow to sit down and identify all my planes and see which ones can autopilot for a bit, and which ones need more of my focused attention right now.

    • Christine it sounds like it’s your time sister. I notice when I’ve stepped into my purpose everything around me conspires to support me and it feels just like you have described. As if everyone is talking directly to you. I’m so looking forward to having more space with you as you start Mentor Masterclass this summer. Looking forward to your updated flight plan. Let us know if you need any support.

  4. Ahhh Jey,
Yes the tango of masculine and feminine has been such a Huge part of my life as you know. One of the things that has helped me has been being in your sisterhood mastermind. I highly recommend anyone who is struggling in this area gets a group of incredible women to support them like this.
Your analogy is so beautiful and I’m enjoying trying it on for all the things going on in my life!

    Love you!

    • Cara,

I believe it’s up for healing as part of this new paradigm we are living and something that is meant to be clarified at this time in our evolution. Leading the sisterhood mastermind for you and the other women has been the catalyst for a new understanding of this balance for me as well. Working with the goddesses each month I think we get a really unique understanding and practice with what the feminine power can feel like within us and exactly how to access it. I find that most of us are really confused about what feminine and masculine really is and how to access it within ourselves. I hadn’t really thought about it in this way until sitting down here to feel in with you.

I feel so much clearer and see that you and the ladies in the mastermind understand and embrace the feminine more naturally after having a full month exploring each goddess. It’s a beautiful way to integrate an important shift within ourselves and the way we live our lives and run our businesses. Thank you for bringing this to light and sharing it with the other women here this week. The primal goddess we are working with this month has been a huge initiator for me in creating this specific space to connect with my tribe. I fuel. I consume.

  5. I LOVE this conversation!!! It has taken me a long time to really, REALLY feel comfortable in my beautiful feminine essence and I have certainly spent a great deal of time making space for how she wants to live, dance, speak, etc. It has been a great joy and huge shifts have happened as a result. AND, I am also so interested in how my masculine side helps to create momentum, action and sometimes change as well. I just spent three weeks solid with 2 men in the dancer/choreographer plane of my life. It was incredible to really see how drastically different we were. Lovers of art, dance, food, etc., yet our functions and actions towards the end game were entirely different. I did however observe a calm, linear logic to their thoughts and I was fascinated as to how their approach was primal yet calculated and almost served as a built in perameter to creative expression, thought and leadership. There was actually something calm about it, where I was dancing amongst ALL of the ideas in my brain as they shifted from emerald tones to soft lilac, to royal blue and harnessed by the ebb and flow of my shadow and light. I played for nearly a month with how the two can marry and effectively land all of my planes. The masculine and feminine create balance and that feels juicy.
The planes I’m flying right now are in the realm of self care (nutrition, exercise, water, sun, love) juxtaposed with my teacher plane, and Captivate plane!! I am working in my creative energies to create classes and content that will ultimately serve others AND I ‘m working on building a beautiful speech for myself and my sisters. My self care plane is necessary for my masculine to function, which I find so interesting. My feminine needs to be rested in order for my masculine to make logical, action based decisions. And finally, my 5th anniversary is right around the corner, so I am in full flight of my wife plane. I love it when I get to fly Her. She LOVES getting taken out! In fact, this is a big deal for my hubby and so I think first class is the only way to go for this one. Essentially my priorities are myself, my husband, my art and my sisters. That’s all I can do for now and that’s perfect! Love and light sisters! Hope to see you at Captivate!!

    • Sarah, I know that feeling of being immersed in the masculine. I am the only woman in a household of men and it has been this way for the past 22 years. As my kids have grown up I have grown more into my feminine but I also see how easy it is for me to fall back into my masculine. I can see that behavior in my mother as well. Growing up in the Midwest during the Depression she had to be more in her masculine to help her family survive. This carried through to how she raised her own children and even to how she related to my father in their marriage. I can see now how that has carried over to my life. Funny, I never really thought about it in that way until right now.

For me, the masculine has been my default, my safe space, my comfort zone. I have been dipping my toes in the feminine for a while but feel the need to go a little deeper. It’s not easy for me, in fact it’s a little scary but I can see the true power, the soft, quiet strength of have the two blend together. Thank you for sparking this flame of an idea in me. <3

      • Mary,

Wow, what powerful reflections and a beautiful moment to have them as you mentioned this transition you are going through as mommy of adult children now. The feminine does feel pretty scary at first. It’s rocky and circular almost more like a boat then a plane. There are waves and seasons and unexpected turns all connected to the moon and mother earth. And surrender is your greatest gift in embracing and experiencing the depth and power of the feminine. My intuitive hit offering for you is to allow your geeky passion for tools and techniques (like me) to explore archetypal resonance with goddesses. It is a fun way to embrace the feminine with archetypes that resonate with women who are comfortable or easily fall into the masculine. I hope you’ll be a part of The Sisterhood Mastermind 2016. Just putting that out there too! 🙂

    • Sarah,

“Calm, linear, logic” exactly how I experience the masculine and sometimes it is so damn comforting right? Just not our natural way and so uncomfortable when WE try to hold that as our core truth. Such beautiful expression and visual here of your dance Sarah. I always appreciate the way you share it ignites my creative side and immediately my eyes are looking through a new and exciting lens. I love my wife plane too! I waited a long time to find that flight and when I get to step into it fully it’s one of my favorite airlines. The vibe and ambiance there is so special. I’m so excited to see how you performance comes to light at the Captivate Retreat.

  6. I’m finding the balance of masculine and feminine showing up a lot lately. FOCUS & FLOW. I love this concept. What am I devoted to this year? Take aim and let my arrow soar freely toward it. LOVE!
I would love to share with you some ways, Jey, that you can set up your environment to support your creativity goals. There’s an area of your home that resonates with the energy of Creativity & Children–a place of free abandon, joy, and playful creation! Also, I’d love to tell you to play around with some essential oils to promote focus or creative expression, but being preggers I’d first think about playing around with your physiology…change your clothes, your music, what items are surrounding you as you create. (of course, if you want any advice on essential oils that are safe for you now you can always reach out to me!)
I am loving these videos, Jey. You’re dipping deep in to your pools of generosity in sharing so openly with us. Thank you!

    • Cristin,

We have been exploring this in so many ways together in your 1:1 and in sister circles and I see you really figuring this out and getting clearer and clearer day by day. Oh mama yes! Bring your Feng Shui genius to us paaa-lease! Maybe you’ll be able to tell me where this place is exactly in my home when you are in CT for The Captivate Retreat!? I have so many essential oils that I play with normally and have set aside while pregnant but I will def bring those back in full force come Oct. Thank you for the reminder. I love the idea of changing clothes and using music. I’ve been using music this week and that has been really helpful but I may need to dress up in a silly costume and see what that sparks. You are always full of such great gems. Thank you for the acknowledgment as well Cristin! I really received that and it reminded me to celebrate for a moment my devotion to my tribe, my truth and our truth. <3

  7. Another stellar, authentic, and raw video, Jey!! Absolutely stunning. This one really resonated with me as, you probably know, I have been dancing with the balance between masculine and feminine for awhile now. Having spent so much time in my masculine (like so many of us), I’m really enjoying this whole “flow” and “move time with my hips” sort of living. 🙂 What I most appreciated about this video is your take on what it means to be in our masculine. I love to think of this in terms of “honor” (as opposed to “efforting” or “doing more” or what I’ve thought of it meaning in the past). I truly desire to honor myself and my word more and more, while remaining in my feminine essence and flow—and this feels like such a beautiful marriage of the two! I also loved your share about your current struggle—or, shall we say, dance?—and can totally relate. I am also at that place of choosing to fly the plane of comfort and peace more than one of creation and stepping out of my comfort zone … but I commit here (as you have done so bravely) to get back into the seat of creation and honor my commitment to launch my first program next month! I’ll spend the next 28 days with you creating and bringing this to life. And, I also want to share with you, that however you show up on that stage in 28 days, it will exactly as it is supposed to be and you and your essence will shine forth (just to ease any potential worry that might creep in as you fly the creativity and comfort-zone-expanding plane). <3

    • Amanda, i also love thinking of the divine masculine energy being that of honoring, standing for and protecting the visions of the divine feminine. Paving the path on which she can dance! Congratulations on your intention and Good luck with your upcoming program- i too am hoping to land that plane- creating a structure that allows me to express myself creatively and offer gifts that people are ready for and happy to receive!

    • Amanda,

Another way of relating to the masculine is imaging it like the father energy within us. Where our mother voice is so guiding, loving, emotional and flexible our father energy is reliable, calming energy. I like to think of learning to ride a bike and how our father energy would guide us. I imagine him saying “I got the back of your seat, it’s okay, I know you’re scared but I got you and you can do this. Don’t you worry, just focus and feel in to what you’re learning as you balance and keep your eyes on the path ahead. And if you fall it’s okay, sometimes we fall. I’ll help you get up and you’re gonna get back on and that’s how we learn. And you’ll be a pro in no time enjoying the wind your hair.” Sometimes we need that “fatherly” energy to ground us in the safe and secure feeling it takes to access our feminine devotion.

Yes, I like the word dance, thank you! It feels good to commit to this together, knowing we will get to celebrate this at the retreat! Thank you for that reminder and declaration of how it will feel on the stage. I trust that deeply and keep going back to it in any moments of self doubt or judgement!

Looking forward to your first program next month Amanda. It’s time sister!

      • Thank you, Jey! This is a beautiful way of looking at it too and totally resonates with me. I’m looking forward to holding the back of my own seat as I learn to ride this new bike (and pick myself up when I fall). And thank you for the added boost in confidence with your encouragement!

  8. Oh Jey, you have hit on something here. This topic is resonating with so many of us. Agh! The pull between being too masculine and to feminine has tormented me for so long! Having lived the past 20+ years in a masculine dominated household I can affirm the challenge to stay connected to our feminine core. But what I have discovered is that when we do surrender, when we let our expectations fade a bit we can see the potential that is before us.

My youngest son is going to graduate from high school this year. Had you asked me back in elementary school if he would be reading above grade level, singing in a high level chamber choir, memorizing all the song lyrics (many of them in Latin), and generally be on track for college I would have said you were crazy. What has changed my perspective is my son’s ability to always try, to put forth his best effort, to have a good attitude and to know what is important and what is just a bunch a bullshit. This, to me, is the definition of masculine honor. Having the integrity to work hard for a goal that means something, that has an impact on the greater good… that is honor. That is the masculine energy we want to bring to our work, sisters.

Thank you, Jey, for reminding us that it is the synchronicity of the two energies that creates the biggest force for change.

    • Mary,

I just want to say welcome to the house of feminine mama. I feel that this is part of the big shift you are stepping into and creating and I am so prepared to help you incubate a new energy into your inner goddessesness and home. Yes as I shared above surrender is the ticket into the feminine core AND pair that with receiving. I surrender. I receive. That is the energy and devotion of The Great Mother that lives within us all.

I love when you talk about your son and the incredible devotion you have had to him and this role in your life. I also want to witness that you were are always in your feminine power when you speak of this and I see so much of the archetypal resonances of the great mother “I surrender. I receive.” in you when you talk about how you were able to support your son in this growth over the years. Together the merging of your son’s brilliant masculine and your powerful feminine has created incredible and tangible results. What a beautiful and personal reference for you of what this could look like within YOU.

There are results and experiences in life I believe we won’t have he luxury of trying on if we don’t learn this balance. Celebrating you, your son and this path we are on to mastery.

  9. Jey, i love that you and other amazing women will be sharing your stories creatively. I am an artist and spiritual healer and i have never performed before but have recently begun a project that will be an embodied creative performance of my own story in the form of a legend. I hope to create a program that will free people from their limiting emotional and mental prisons through healings and guide them to create and share their own unique legend. Each of our stories are so rich and important. Thank you for shsring yours and inspiring others to do the same!

    • Jane,

Hi my love! Where are you in the world? Is there any chance you will be able to come and join us for the performance? I see that word hope again and I just keep getting the hit that your greatest shift will come from leaning into the power of your intentions. Hope is great, it resonates high on the consciousness scale but intending creates embodiment and I would love to see you’re genius and purpose expressed in a very tangible way. I can’t wait to learn more about you and your story and I’m so thankful you are showing up here and shining. Thank you for your words and shares.

  10. Thank you Jeannine for this powerful share- its totally triggering me. As my time is trickling down abroad in Tokyo, I’m feeling a bit scattered upon returning next week. I have been blessed with an electric parade of lightbulbs going off this past month, but its almost causing a blinding confusion on what parade float to focus on and march with…just like what plane to fly. My heart keeps hitting hesitation sensations that bring up some fear about the great unknown. And then it causes me to freeze.

I am moving to NY the weekend after I land and have a lot of ducks to get in a row for that. I also will be experiencing a financial standstill, unemployed as an actor with nothing currently on the docket, and in need of supplemental work while I bloom my coaching business in the city and audition for bigger projects. I’m scared to invest in myself support wise (craving a career coach for my own coaching business as well as a VA) as well as theatre training because I am going to need money for rent and all the moving expenses including new furniture. I feel the financial pit, but am scared to sit down and budget because that feels like prison. I’m also fearful of falling into a hustling cycle that has me scrambling to make ends meet.

I also know I sometimes act impulsively and over stuff my plate in the heat of the moment- I can foresee that happening with all the ideas I have and which ones I should put into creation mode. Whats worse is I sometimes tend to purchase more distractions (like additional online programs)- so there needs to be more a trust of what I have instead of constantly re-routing. I really want to work on building my list for my coaching business, creating a copy service for other coaches, creating my opt in, meeting new casting directors, raising the bar on my theatre career, getting new coaching clients, and catching up on all the programs and books I have bought and not yet put the time to soak in. I also have endless ideas for programs I want to create, but have no idea when and how to start. Its a bit daunting!

I know I have to simplify, challenge my money blocks, and release a priestess warrior balance that serves all the ideas I really want to commit to, but doesn’t make me feel overwhelmed by them. Whats hard is that none of this really feels like “should bes”- they are all “I wants.” But because there are too many of them, I get super foggy.

I don’t have the answers quite yet, but it felt good to release all that has been on my chest. Money just seems to be taking the fun out of everything, making everything way too serious. So right now, I’m in search for of a non-intimidating, creative, and supportive groove <3

Clicking submit even though this feels super messy and vulnerable. THANK YOU JEY FOR THIS CONVO! Your performance is going to be off the hook- lightning of creativity will strike and light up the Blessingway is ways you haven't quite yet foreseen. I feel it and I can't wait to be immersed in it!

    • Tara I feel you so tender here my love. Thank you for always showing up as you, I adore you and bow down to your authenticity. All of your feelings are not at all a surpass to me. How could you not go through these emotions. I see this time as complete sacredness. And scattered, of course, you’ve been on a bus around the world. Your beautiful energy, talent and devotion is sprinkled all around the world and soon it is coming home to one place. One grounded solid place. I know that is a gift and I also know it’s going to feel PRETTY uncomfortable to start. It’s okay. You’re energy will quickly adjust but it’s just going to be a little wacky for a moment.

You can handle wacky. You are a bit wacky, in the best of ways. YOU got this sister. And there is a faint thread beneath all of the “figuring out” that knows that you don’t really have to “do” anything. You simply got this and the universe has got you. Just as it always has.

Now, with that being said clarity is a valuable asset here and you can bring your monkey brain on board to support you through this transition and identity crisis from traveling artist to grounded super star, life coach and leader!

Also if your heart is bringing up hesitation sensations (love that description and I get those) that means it’s time to move out of looking to your emotional triggers for advice and into your womb space. Drop down. This is the space of creation sister. You are a powerful manifester. You know how to get what you want. I know this first hand. When you set your eyes on something you get it. If there is a will, there’s a way.

You’ve done so much work on your money story. Its a time when this is all going to come up for you again to test what you have really learned. Pull out all your money master resources and put them at hand grabbing length on your tool belt.

It sounds like you are focusing a lot on all of what you don’t want rather then creating a clear vision and focus of what you do. Imagine an athlete before a race imagining all of the ways that she could fall down, lose her breath, dehydrate. I think you get it. This is a time for you to empower yourself with very clear visuals of what you are calling in and what resources you have that you are brining to the table. And it sounds like investing in a coach of your own and a VA would be like the water, well build shoes and training you need to handle this race. I highly recommend considering saying yes to those intuitive hits.

Also love there are def not too many on your plate but some organization, directed focus, concentrated power and a devoted co creator coach would be very beneficial in helping you put all this together in an effective way.

Captivate will be so great for you and this to receive sisterhood support and we’ll talk more in person in a few weeks.

For now start asking better questions and creating empowering visuals of what you DO want. And remember above all YOU GOT THIS.

      • Jey….these words filled my morning with clarity and hope, and my heart hesitations are beginning to stop aching. I cannot thank you enough for this. I spent the morning listening to my soul, unwinding in my journal, catching up on only the things I felt called for, and just beginning to smile and drop down deeper again. It was a joyous elevator ride to the womb space I needed to take- I think my soul was on the Tower of Terror before!
I am endlessly grateful for this support- it is felt from North America to Asia at a lightning speed of sparkling magic! And thank you for seeing and holding me in this indemnity crisis extravaganza- I can’t wait to put words to it at Captivate. It could not come sooner! Much love to you Jey and enjoy Burlington- I got my first crystal there! ❤️

  11. Jey!
You were so right! I LOVED this video… again. It came in the perfect time, regarding my current reflections and concerns. The masculine, the feminine and the planes, wow! a lot of life juiciness to reflect, discover, reframe and practice. Lets begin with the planes metaphor: I love the idea of prioritize and choose to be the pilot of one plane at a time. So I want to share this beautiful image that came to mind when thinking about my current planes: now I have a fleet that is being led by one of them and I’m confidently seated on the pilot seat. That plane is Art and Creativity and soon I’ll be landing on my first project as a visual artist, creating just for the sake of it, materializing my inner world through expression and starting to make a living from it. So what planes are following this one? First and most important of all of them: being me, trusting in myself, finding my voice and stop being afraid to show it to the world. This project is forcing me (in a good way) to finally build my online presence and being out there, no matter what, after long years (if not a whole life) of hiding. Second plane: My coaching role, service and practice. Because I want to work for other creatives in struggle and for people who want to find they’re purpose or career, so I have to do it with myself first and make it a reality! I need to overcome my own limitations and fears, I have to go through the fire so I can lead and help others to do the same. Third plane: finances. I’m going to open a digital art store, and doing it I’m sending a strong message to my system: that I’m capable of supporting myself doing what I love. I’ll also relieve a bit the pressure I’m having with debt right now, and I’ll help myself to boost my funds for the Captive Retreat! YES! I feel so good just writing this, feeling myself as a real pilot! hahaha I really love the metaphor. Thank you so much for sharing it because I feel it’ll serve me a lot in the future, in moments of confusion and overwhelm <3
Now, the masculine / feminine balance. It's still a bit of a mystery to me. I don't know exactly how and when they operate in my life and how to step into each of them to use it on my favor. Intuitively and thanks to all the information that is arriving to me, I can say that I have been EXTREMELY feminine my whole life, letting myself to be driven by my emotions, flowing with all the things that appears in my life, and searching for freedom and meaning above everything else. I've always suffered from lack of direction. But on the other hand I know I also have this need of being in control and self sufficient, and by now I identify this with masculine power. So anyway, this is for sure a topic that I want to explore and learn from on a practical level, and not just in the theory, so I guess there's a whole journey of self discovery ahead!!! And balance… oh yes, I feel balance is the goal and the key… as always! (ejm…a librarian speaking) I'm so so so grateful that I landed in this sisterhood, where there's a lot of room and encouragement for this exploration 🙂
Now, stop talking about me! Lets continue with you and your plane! Thank you for sharing what is real for you regarding this. You're facing your fears and obstacles, and letting us to witnessing it is such a beautiful gift to us, and to you for sure! Really. I know you'll do a great great great job, and if you don't, you're still going to be the beautiful Jey, full of love, joy, intelligence and power… but you'll do a great great great job anyway, because it will be your best 🙂 So I'm sending you all my love, strength and encouragement for this creative birthing that is coming!!!
Thanks for everything and see you next Wednesday (can't wait!)

  12. I am so excited for the retreat and watching this amazing show you have but so much into. Loved this video about prioritizing and honoring our flow as it is a constant challenge for myself and the women I coach. The feeling of deeply wanting something and burning out from to much push. I think honoring our flow comes from a deep connection and knowing our true selves. Similarly, knowing ourselves also leads to being able to choose what priority is most important and which planes to land instead. When it comes to our deepest desires and goals, we often push ourselves to the limit and still feel dissatisfied. For me it creates resistance that I can only tame by acknowledging myself and feeling loved.

I think a few great questions to help with this are, how do you honor our flow, trust in the time it takes and stay positive along the way? Love to you! You are beautiful, these videos rock 🙂

  13. Hi Jean, love this gentle reminder. I would like to seek clarification based on this inspiring post:
When we prioritise & choose to stay in pilot mode for our current priorities plane, what about the other previous plane? In ur case, while u’re focusing on doing ur live performance show, what about the previous plane of maintaining this blog, consulting & supporting other sisterhood? Do you stop everything about it or what?

Similarly, being in a long hour job (9 am to 6 or often 11 pm), I struggle to juggle being healthy & taking self care (eating healthy food, exercising, doing facial, slathering on lotion, learning makeup), & my social life is affected (family bonding time & friends networking time). Couldn’t wait to hear juicy insights from you Jeannine!!! Thanks a million

  14. Jey, thanks again for such a powerful video. And what timing! Right now I’m struggling with the spaciousness needed to get into flow and deciding what planes I need to temporarily “land” is an important step in cultivating this spaciousness- thank you for the reminder. I find one of the hardest parts of deciding on priorities is the guilt you can feel when you decide to set other priorities aside- this can be paralysing. I love the re-frame of the masculine paving the way for the feminine to follow. Decide, then act. As an entrepreneur, a part-time worker, a Master’s student, a friend, a partner, a daughter… the list goes on. The only answer here for me seems to be surrender. Feel all the feelings associated with letting go of the other lists, and allow all the space to flow in. Beautiful in it’s simplicity.

  15. Jey- this video served as such a powerful opportunity to recognize how many planes I have flying in the air right now. It’s like my airports are on rollers and moving throughout the day so my planes have no idea where to land. I am able to see how I need to park some planes in the hanger and focus on the planes that are carrying my most precious cargo. Get really clear on what I desire right now while still allowing my feminine flow to be present and free. The masculine exhausts me when it is not balanced. Feeling very called to slow down, call back in my energy, and tend to what I desire to focus on right now.

I am beyond excited for the Captivate performance. Thank you for sharing with us the behind-the-scenes truth of what it is like to create such a creative offering. I honor your desire to have the performance that allows you to shine in the way you are meant to shine! I will be cheering you on the entire performance! xoxo

  16. Hi Jey! I was finally able to sit dow and watch this :). Thank you for shedding light on this metaphor. I realized I have TOO many planes in flight. I am sitting down this week to figure out where to prioritize :).I am so excited to see you at Captivate! I can totally understand your two planes of wanting to be creative and also wanting to feel comfortable. What is funny is you are legit CREATING a baby in your body so your doing the most creative work of your life in a way already! It will be an amazing experience, to see you on stage, whatever comes up for you. I am so excited!!!!!!!!

    • Thank you Hannah and thank you for the reminder. You are so right there is so much creative energy flowing through me. It is challenging to direct it and at the same time it is so powerfully directed on it’s own on making this little baby girl. Thank you, thank you for helping me to soften into that knowing. Can’t wait to see you.

  17. Woof! That damn pesky feeling of “not being enough”/ “not doing enough” is so debilitating for me. I can become so overwhelmed by it that it paralyzes me from taking action. I often feel like my masculine energy is chastising my feminine energy. She gets her feelings hurt and then doesn’t take action. I’m inspired by your brave creative ideas and your ability to share them and direct your planes to where you want them to go at this time. Bravo!
The need for creation is palpable for me! I feel you sister! I have been feeling the void of creativity in my life big time. So much so, that I pulled out an old mandala coloring book today! I want to commit to making creativity more of a priority for me. Its so important for us artist types.

    • Alisha,

Hi love! So happy to see you back here and engaging. So funny you mention a Mandala coloring book for igniting Creativity… last month I did the exact same thing. Yesterday I was driving just singing along to a new artist my sister recommended and I had a full body reaction to the artistry of the singer and her mix and my own connection to the tones. Creativity flooded over me and with it, pure joy. You are an artist, a creative, and I know how important creativity is to your inspiration and evolution sister! We need a coloring date!

      Jey
